My Skincare Holy Grail

Oh my goodness you guys! It was very surprising to me to discover my holy grail for skincare! I have tried SO many skincare products it’s not even funny. I’ve tried Clearasil, Neutrogena, First Aid Beauty, Clean & Clear, Exuviance, you name it! I have probably tried it…

Ever since I was in high school, I have had horrible cystic acne, and after I graduated I went on birth control. It did help my acne for the most part, but as soon as Aunt Flo would come to visit, my cystic acne would flare up. And the worst part was that I had NO idea how to control it, or heal it, or get rid of it; The frustration was real my friends! Now, fast forward to this year, I made the decision to come off birth control. I had tried so many different kinds of birth control for 7 years and was tired of feeling like a crazy person. I know people have different reactions on birth control, but I never felt like myself when I was on it. Hence, why people say that they feel like a “crazy bitch.” Unfortunately as I went off birth control, my hideous cystic acne returned with a vengeance. It has been a struggle trying to deal with this level of acne as an adult.

That is until I found the benefits of tea tree oil! (Wow this that sound like something out of an infomercial lol!)

I first discovered tea tree oil by Googling ‘How To Get Rid Of Cystic Acne and Scarring Fast.” Totally embarrassing admitting that, but I had a very important business trip coming up quickly and I needed to find a way to get rid of my cystic acne as fast as I could. A lot of the things that popped up involved going to the store and buying a lot of things I had never used before, which made me quite nervous. But, one person did recommend using tea tree oil, which I already had in my medicine cabinet. The instructions stated to put a few drops of the tea tree oil onto a cotton ball, then very gently dab your acne, scarring or scabbing with it. After that, apply petroleum jelly to the irritated spot or scab to help keep it moisturized, as well as lock in that tea tree oil. I decided to give it a go, and I am SO GLAD I did!!!

Within the first 48 hours, my cystic acne had gone down more than half, the redness was almost completely gone, and my scabbing was healing 3 times faster than it normally does! I would definitely say that I am a ‘picker’ when it comes to acne. Especially when I am stressed, I pick any bump or imperfection on my face until there is a giant red spot. It is such a bad habit of mine, and has caused a lot of acne scarring. For my cystic acne, it is so much worse, mainly because it takes almost a full month to completely heal. I was absolutely stunned to see how fast my acne, redness and scabs were healing! It was so crazy!

By the time five days had passed, the scabs had fallen off and barely left a dark spot on my face! This stuff is magic you guys.

I have had no other product affect my face so dramatically than tea tree oil has. Before, I was using several 3-Step treatment products that kind of helped, but most of them left my face feeling too dry, or too oily, or sometimes even sticky. My skin was so unbalanced that it didn’t know what to do with itself anymore.

As of today, I only have a few dark spots from previous cysts and that’s it. I haven’t had a single pimple otherwise appear on my face, the redness on my face has subsided so dramatically. It makes me so happy!!! What I have been doing otherwise to help the entirety of my face is by taking some basic face wash such as Cetaphil and add about 2 – 3 drops of tea tree oil, then I wash my face. Not only does it help clean my face, it wakes me up instantly!

Tea Tree Oil has antiseptic properties, so it helps heal infections on the skin such as acne. For me, it has been the best product to help with my acne and I highly recommend anyone who has bad acne to give it a try!

This is all for now my lovelies!

Tootles,

Sig
