Hello there!

My name is Elizabeth (Izzy for short, because Elizabeth can be quite the mouthful) and welcome to Izzle N' Things! I am a 30 year old who has thrown herself life, motherhood, and learning how to run my family’s small local business as a Master Pointe Shoe Fitter.

I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and raised in Washington State. I grew up in an Air Force family with three other siblings. As much as I have moved around (Germany, Texas, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Oregon), nothing makes me feel more at home than some heavy snowfall and the smell of Evergreen Trees.

I first took a liking to ballet when I was three years old, spent seven years away from it, and picked it back up when I was ten. What started as a recreational hobby turned into what I would have spent 14 years doing. I danced professionally for two years in a small company, and unfortunately had to take an early retirement due to injury. This lead me to my current job; the dance shop.

I’ve managed the local dance shop for 8 years now, and the business itself has been open for 72 years. To get to continue such a legacy has been a huge blessing. The opportunity to help young dancers aspire to what I once was is a job that is more rewarding than any other job I could have thought.

August 2019, I was blessed with the gift of motherhood by the birth of my first-born son, Benjamin Clark, and again in September 2021, we met my daughter, Harper Louise! Motherhood is something that you can research and prepare for your entire life, and feel like you learned nothing once your child arrives. I read once that parenthood is like studying to drive a car, and when the big day comes and you get your license, you are handed keys to an airplane. What a journey parenting has been! It’s not something I would change in a heartbeat. I love my children in ways I never thought I was capable of loving.

I use this space as an extension of my personality, and another look into my life, my feelings, my experiences; This blog is me!
