Packing for San Rafael

This trip marks the first of many trips I take for my small business, and honestly it is one of my favorites. The very first time I traveled to California for business was with the previous owner, and only a month after my family had bought the shop. We mailed boxes to the dance studio and flew down from our location, and had a grand ole' time fitting young, aspiring dancers in their pre-pointe shoes. This time, I will be traveling on my own along with doing all of the fittings on my own. Instead of mailing boxes down to San Rafael, I'll be bringing suitcases, and that doesn't leave me a whole lot of room to pack for myself. I've managed to only pack the essentials to where I can squeeze them into the other suitcases if need be.

Here are the bare essentials of what I packed for this trip!

These are the contents of my travel backpack. I've found that using a backpack instead of an over-the-shoulder bag/purse is SO much easier to manage! (From Top left down...)

  • ColorYourLife Tablet Sleeve in Free Bird

  • Asus T100TA Tablet Laptop

  • Small cosmetic bag with travel sized items (Daisy by Marc Jacobs, Dot by Marc Jacobs, Revlon Photo Ready Concealer in 002, Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm in Just Plum Good, Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick in Berry Rouge, )

  • Asus Tablet Charger

  • Bath & Bodyworks Stress Relief Hand Sanitizer with Nutcracker Case #onceadanceralwaysadancer

  • Kikki K. Planner in Limited Edition Lavendar

  • Small cosmetic bag with loose change and my business cards

  • Phone Case & Wallet duo from Target

  • Bebe Sunglases

  • Anxiety Medications (I don't do well with turbulence or stress)

  • Plain black case with iPhone headphones

  • Selfie Stick

  • Razor Kraken Pro V2 Headset

  • Tamron & Cannon lens cover for the camera I used to take these pictures

  • Instax Mini in Pink with White carrying case from Amazon

  • Case Logic carrying case for my Cannon T5i Camera with my Tamron AF 28-200 mm f/3.8-5.6 XR Aspherical Lens

It seems like so much more when I typed it all out! I prefer to take all of my electronics with me on the plane for their safety (and my sanity). I've heard so many stories of people packing their laptops and cameras in their suitcase and getting stolen out of their bags. That will not be me! I have pretty severe anxiety when it comes to flying, and any inkling of turbulence throws me into an anxiety attack. Hence, why I bring my anxiety medications with me any time I travel. I also like to use my planner while I'm on the plane and prepare myself for my business trip, and it holds all of my business receipts.

I usually pack more clothes than this, but again, I do not have room for extra outfits. Starting from the left, I have outfits for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and pajamas.

First Outfit:

  • Marled Knit Infinity Scarf from Charlotte Russe in Grey

  • Pink Rose Pullover Sweater in Olive

  • Sanctuary Ace Utility Jeans in Fatigue

  • Wool socks from Target

  • Tommy Hilfiger Bra

  • Jason Maxwell Cardigan in Taupe

  • Poof! V-Neck in Black

  • Wax Jean Skinny Jeans with Rolled Cuffs in Burgundy

  • Wool Socks From Target

  • Janet Chung Grey Shirt with self-pressed "Wifey" (this was one of the honeymoon shirts I made)

  • Banana Printed Boxers (I love these boxers)

  • "Odile With It" off-the-shoulder shirt (No idea who made this)

  • Dota 2 Ti6 Leggings

  • More socks and underwear from either Target or somewhere I can't remember

It is still going to be cold in California while I am there, so I figured I'd rather be warm and toasty while I work. I do plan on meeting up with a few friends when I have free time, and also wanted to look nice without having to change outfits three times.

This is it for my minimal packing for San Rafael! I'll have a travel post coming soon with tons of pictures and whatnot, so stay tuned!

Tootles,
