Lollipop Baby Monitor Review

OK you guys. I have been waiting to do this review for a while now. I’ve had my base points ready and a post drafted, but throw in a move and a worldwide pandemic and I completely forgot about it! Now that I am blogging more, I discovered it in my drafts and here we are!

I received the Lollipop Baby Monitor as a Christmas Present from my in-laws (thank you Kim & Sean!) As a first time mom, I was having a HELL of a time relaxing any time I put Ben to sleep in his crib. You always have a worry about SIDS, no matter how old your infant may be.

This monitor put those worries at ease.

Let’s go into the specs of this bad boy! It’s a Wi-Fi based camera that records 30 frames per second at 720 Pixels - It records a CLEAR IMAGE! Nothing bugs me more than a baby monitor that refuses to focus or is eternally blurry. There are two infrared lights it switches to, depending on the distance you have your camera set. It automatically detects this, so you don’t have to worry about switching settings at all. It includes a sound machine in the settings with a variety of noises as well as a microphone to talk to your baby. A cry detector, crossing detection (which is great if you’ve got a rolling baby!) - this camera is fantastic!

Other premium features include continuous recording and video that saves to the cloud for 10 days and soon a sleep log!

It comes with hardware to secure it to the wall or the side of baby’s crib, and because of how flexible it it, you can angle it however you want! We’ve got ours positioned high up and cords out of the way for Mr. Benjamin. I can’t tell you how many times we tried to have it lower, but he always found a way to pull the camera off the wall!

Here’s what the App looks like

The dashboard is the main hub for the monitor. It lets you know how your baby is doing, whether he’s crying or sleeping, if he’s moved, etc. From the dash you can also play music for your baby if they’re having a hard time falling asleep and relaxing. Benjamin loves classical music so we have Chopin already selected for when he’s fussier than normal. It has several different sound options depending on what your baby find most comforting to listed to.

It also shows how many events you had today. So when the app notifies you that baby has been crying, it will show up in the Events section.

Lastly at the bottom, it shows how many moments you’ve had for the day. How many times baby has moved around in the crib or if there has been any movement around the crib.

The timeline section of the app shows all of the events and moments while the camera is running. If I’m remembering correctly, the constant video footage is a Lollipop Care feature (premium). Ben had been asleep throughout the time shown on my screenshot, which is why there are no events! Once he’s asleep, he’s out like a log!

Finally, we have the sensor log, which shows the decible level of baby’s room while the camera is on. As you can see from the spikes, Ben does have some moments where he either doesn’t want to nap, or wakes up screaming.

It retails at $149 USD, and can be purchased directly through Lollipop’s Website or through Amazon. Despite how expensive it is, it is beyond worth the price!

After a few months with the monitor, we decided to go ahead and subscribe to Lollipop Care, which is the premium features. The continuous recording when online allows us to catch moment like these - Moments we will cherish and laugh at for years:

I hope this answered any questions you may have about the Lollipop baby monitor! Is there a different monitor you prefer? Let’s chat in the comments!

This is all for now!
