Photo Journal: Alaska
One of the best things my job has gifted me with is the ability to travel. Wherever I go, I try to give myself a little bit of time to adventure throughout the city and experience the culture. Alaska was a magical place, and I have finally gotten around to reviewing all of the photos I took on my week-long trip. I hope you enjoy this post and the beauty of Alaska through my photography! First stop:
Ketchikan
I absolutely LOVED Ketchikan. It was such a cute little town with all sorts of shops and sights to see.
Our first flight took us to Seattle and we were able to see Mt. Rainier!
The other side of the port.
The Ferry Dock... The Airport in Ketchikan is literally on an island so in order to get to the actual city, you have to ride the Ferry over to the main island!
My co-worker Bailey and our very large pile of Suitcases (There are another 2 suitcases on a trolley behind Bailey)
The Ferry
I have always been fascinated with clouds and the ones in Alaska were incredible!
This was the mile long dock in Ketchikan, and we could see the fish jumping out of the water!
I was so sad that the Bubble Tea place was closed while we were there :(
This little espresso shop made the best Almond Roca Latte I have ever had! Also the best grilled cheese sandwiches!
The giant building at the top of this lift was a super fancy restaurant and hotel. Reminded me of Spirited Away!
Ketchikan is huge for tourists... there were about 6 of these cruise ships in the bay!
I can't quite remember what this river was called, but during the spring and summer time, the very top of the river hits the metal fish next to the dock!
We were only in Ketchikan for two days, and after we left for our next destination:
Sitka
We were SO lucky that we had a very few hours to kill before we started fitting and selling, and we went to the Sitka National Historic Park.
So, I had no idea that this is what not dead and cut up Salmon look like.... Those teeth!!!! Super scary!
It might be a little hard to see, but this river was FILLED with hundreds of Salmon, migrating up the river!
We walked past this tree...
And Bailey decided to climb it
This stump was like the tree version of the Iron Throne xD
This National Park also had a TON of totem poles! Super cool to see these up and in person!
This beach was probably one of my favorite places we discovered.
I saw this Bald Eagle from SO far away! I had to fully zoom in to confirm that yes, it was a Bald Eagle!!! I'd never seen one before!
Bailey and I ran down the side of the beach just so I could get a good picture of this guy xD
This bay was heaven to me...
There were Orcas in this bay. A momma and her calf!
I had never seen a while in person before, and it felt like I was seeing a dinosaur in real life!
This is definitely my favorite photo I took the entire trip. I felt like I was on the set of a Lord of The Rings movie or something. It was so surreal...
If you guys ever get the chance to travel, I highly recommend going to Alaska. It is so incredibly beautiful and there is so much to see and almost felt like a mini vacation, even though we were on a work trip.
I hope you enjoyed this post! I really would like to do more photo journal type posts in the future!
This is all for now.
Tootles!
