Trying Bemer Therapy

Today marks my first week of using the Bemer Therapy method to help combat my labral tear. It also marks the one week of not having to use my cane! I have not not used my cane for a full week since I got it. I would go to my parent's house twice a day (because my father is renting one of these systems) and do these treatments. In a nutshell, the Bemer Therapy uses electrical pulses to help circulate blood flow and turnover of white blood cells. Thus, bringing more white and red blood cells to inflamed areas of the body.

Day One: I was so skeptical. So skeptical. The thought of electrical pulses magically fixing my hip sounded absurd. Not going to lie though, it was very strange using it for the first time. It felt like my legs were pulling away from my body, and like I was bouncing on a trampoline. No, I was not on drugs. I was just sitting on this yoga mat-like thing for eight minutes. I went home very confused.

Day Two: I couldn't feel too much of a difference. The weird sensation did not happen again and I continued throughout my day as normal. My hips still bothered me quite a bit, so I was still skeptical.

Day Three, Four and Five: I don't remember much, because I didn't really notice too much. Which was weird. I ALWAYS noticed my hips bothering me. Whether they ached or were in excruciating pain, I was aware of it. I did not feel anything at all. Nothing! I went from a pain scale of 6 - 10 daily, to 0 - 3. Towards the end of the day, my hips ached very slightly, but nowhere near as bad as it has been the past four years.

Day Six: I have never felt more normal, at least since I was in high school. I could skip, hop, run, jump and sit in weird positions in my computer chair and not have any hip pain what so ever. It literally feels like magic.

I had to skip day seven because I ended the day with horrendous nausea,  but this incredible Bemer Therapy has given me so much hope about not having to undergo a surgery that would surely bankrupt me. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has arthritis, or any kind of chronic pain. Leave a comment if you have any questions, and I'd be happy to answer them! I've also linked the official Bemer Therapy website and a short video below if you want to look into it more.

That's all for now.

Tootles!
