I'm Engaged!!!!

Oh my lanta you guys!!! I seriously cannot believe I am sitting here, writing to you as an engaged woman! I never in a million years imagined that I would find my person as soon as I did. But my god is he everything I have ever dreamed of and more. The weekend of October 7th was one I will never, ever forget.

It started with a Saturday where I didn't have to work; highly unusual since Saturdays are the busiest of days at the shop. And I went ham cleaning the place and picking up from the chaos that has been the last few months. I will admit, I am a messy person. Not a dirty person, I just have a tendency to leave messes everywhere I go in my apartment. So we picked up and cleaned and went out to lunch with Jacob's best friends. Afterwords I went home and sat on the couch for 5 hours knitting him a hat while binge-watching The Great British Bake Off. Jacob didn’t get off work until the wee hours of the morning, and one of his best friends were in town; I had the entire apartment to myself. It was such a calm and simple Saturday.

Sunday I woke up bright and early at 6:30 am to start getting ready for the day. I was going to Greenbluff Farms with Jacob's family to go stand in line for an hour for Pumpkin doughnuts, drink in the beer garden and to pick apples and pumpkins. It seemed like any other event that his family did every year, and now I was apart of it with my relationship with Jacob.

We sat in the beer garden for a little while drinking apple Cider mimosas and waited for his parents to come back with the doughnuts. We had some good laughs as we shivered in the cold wind, talking about this and that. The line for the doughnuts was a bit longer than we expected, so we wandered around the pumpkin patch and took pictures. I brought my Cannon T6i to get some good family photos, especially candids. I am very good at getting nice candid photos.

Jacob’s sister and her good friend took photos first; we did some posed, a lot of candids and silly ones, followed by pictures of Jacob and his best friends. I had Jacob take a couple with his sister and I and her friend. Then came photos with Jacob and I.

At first I was getting frustrated with him because he kept wiggling and being silly, and I wanted a nice photo with him. He turned to me and said, “Hey! Do you know what I love more than taking pictures with you?” I replied with a what as he whipped out a little black box and said back, “Getting to spend the rest of my life with you.”

I immediately burst into tears as he knelt down on one knee, with a ring in his hand, asking me to marry him. I now understand why everyone wanted me to bring my camera, and why his sister and mom took me to get my nails done a few days before. I had absolutely no idea it was going to happen that day, or any time soon. He had been teasing me that it wouldn’t be until after our 6 month anniversary! I was beyond surprised! We got a ton of photos of him and I, and his proposal and I’ve posted them below.

I still can’t believe it you guys!!! I am so excited to marry the love of my life, my person, and my best friend. Here come all the wedding related posts! I am so, so, SO excited that I can’t contain my excitement. I still have not stopped gazing down at my ring, watching it sparkle and shine in the light and sunshine; AH! I can’t wait to take you all on this journey with me!!!

Tootles,
