Ranking 6 Christmas Songs

As with most people this time of year, the songs associated with the holidays is one of my favorites. But there are some that are my favorite and I could listen to all day, and some that I cannot stand. Let start with my favorites!

1 - Dominick the Donkey by Ray Allen, performed by Lou Monte

I wish I knew the best way to explain my love for this song, but I can’t! There’s something about this song that immediately puts me into the holiday spirit.

2 - I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas by John Rox, performed by Gayla Peevey

I had not heard this song until I met my husband and his family, and it’s a favorite of theirs! There’s something about old-timey sounding Christmas songs that just makes me feel good.

3 - Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Holms

If this song isn’t on your favorite Christmas songs because of Mean Girls, you have not lived. Every time this song comes on at my work, I stop and do the dance from the movie. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, do yourself a favor and watch Mean Girls.

Now for my least favorites… ehn.

4 - Twelve Days of Christmas by anyone

I cannot stand this song, and I think it’s the repetition of the song.

5 - Do You Hear What I Hear by anyone

Again, I really do not like this song. It was featured in Gremlins, and I have not been able to un-see the Gremlin exploding in the microwave to this song. It creeps me out.

6 - Silver Bells by anyone

The only thing about this song is that it makes me want to fall asleep. I’m all for exciting and happy Christmas songs, but ones that are slow paced I prefer not to listen to.
