An Honest What I'm Getting My 1 Year Old for Christmas
I almost turned this post into a gift guild for presents for a one year old, and then I looked at this list I’m about to share with you and you’ll see why I didn’t!
To be honest with you guys, King Benjamin is not getting anything extravagant this holiday season other than a new crib. He’s still quite young, and wont fully understand the concept of Christmas until next year. So, instead of going crazy on bunches of toys for him this year, this, in all honesty, is what Ben is getting from his parents (lol)!
Schnacks
My boy loves to EAT! So in line with his appetite, he is indeed getting snacks for Christmas. This will include sauce puches, raisins, and an assortment of other foods he loves. The kid won’t know the difference, right? And when he’s as old as I am and married, we can joke with him about his second Christmas he celebrated, Santa brought him food hahaha!
A New Crib
The crib Ben has been using was the crib all of my siblings and I used as babies, and I am so thankful my mom kept it all these years. When Ben was first born, we could not afford to purchase a crib (or drive 4 hours to IKEA to purchase the least expensive one we could find!) So I very happily borrowed hers, however, most of the screws went missing after the move back to Spokane and it took several trips to Lowes to find screws that would fit. It’s has worked great, until Ben became mobile and the whole crib shakes. I also went down the rabbit hole of spooky crib-crashing-and-breaking videos on the internet (I do not encourage any parent to do this). I’ve saved up all of my Amazon points for a big, necessary purchase like this, and we’re basically getting him this crib for free. It’s one that converts into a toddler bed, and eventually a full sized bed when he’s older. He will not understand why he’s gotten a new crib, but this mama will be SO EXCITED!
Duplo Blocks
This will be the final item Ben is getting from his parents/Santa for Christmas this year. He is becoming more curious at taking things apart and putting them back together. And on top of that, his hand dexterity is so good! He is too young for legos for now, but giant duplo blocks will suffice! I’m sure he will go nuts over them!
And that’s it! This is all we’re getting Benjamin for Christmas. Although we have little to no bills right now, money is still very tight with paying off debt. This isn’t something Ben will understand either, as all he understands is when the next time he is getting a cookie! It will still be a festive holiday season no matter what. I’m just thankful we have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies.
This is all for now!
Tootles,
