3 Holiday Cocktails I'm Planning on Trying
Tis the season, am I right?!?
Now that I am past the appropriate legal age for drinking, the holidays have definitely become more fun now that cocktails are involved. Up until recently, I haven’t been much too keen on alcohol consumption. Although I really hadn’t ventured much into the realm of alcohol (what even is whisky and rum? why don’t people like tequila?) I don’t like super sour tasting drinks, or super sugary, and beer is out of the question. I am pretty picky about the flavor of what I am drinking.
So here, I have found three recipes I plan on testing out during this holiday season!
Holly Jolly Christmas Citrus Cocktail
This looks so delicious!!!
I found this recipe from Half Baked Harvest, and I am all for a spritzy, tangy cocktail.
INGREDIENTS
2 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce St. Germain (elderflower liquor)
1/3 cup fresh squeezed clementine or blood orange juice
pomegranate arils, for topping
1 sprig fresh thyme or mint
On top of it being so easy to make, my mouth is literally watering thinking about tasting this.
Rudolf’s Tipsy Spritzer
This is another one that sounds very enticing. Found it from Tidy Mom!
Sweet, but not too sweet and still sounds refreshing!
INGREDIENTS
2 ½ cups orange juice, chilled
2 ½ cranberry juice, chilled
2 cups Ginger ale, 7UP or Sprite, chilled
2 cups vodka (chilled)
1/2 cup maraschino cherry juice, chilled
juice of one large lemon (about 1/4 cup)
cranberries or maraschino cherries and rosemary sprigs (optional garnish)
This one requires some extra preparing, or just remembering to keep all the ingredients in the refrigerator!
Mrs. Claus Cranberry Whiskey Cocktail
In case you haven’t figured out that I like fruity drinks (specifically cranberry)….
This one I found from The College Housewife sounds like a cranberry dream to me!
INGREDIENTS
2 Ounces of Cranberry Juice
Cinnamon Sticks or 1/4 Teaspoon of ground cinnamon
2 Ounces Whiskey or Bourbon
1 –2 Tablespoons of Rosemary Simple Syrup
This one is so simple, and I can prepare the simple syrup the night before, or before I make the drink that night. Either way, this sounds so refreshing and I seriously cannot wait to try it out!
And there you have it! Maybe in the future I’ll try making up my own holiday cocktails, but for now I’ll stick with Pinterest finds! Do you have a signature drink you like to serve during the holidays? Let’s chat below!
This is all for now!
