Rosé Chronicles: The Hunt Begins
I’ll start by saying that I am not a huge consumer of wine. It’s never captured my taste buds like a nice fruity vodka kamikaze has (and I do love me a Huckleberry Kamikaze!) However, a couple years ago on Nutcracker Tour, I tasted a Rosé that tasted like straight strawberries. It was delicious. I have since been unable to find said bottle of Rosé and it is actually driving me crazy. Not knowing who made this delicious Rosé, where I could buy it, if it even exists at all…
Welcome to the Rosé Chronicles; The journey of finding my perfect, fruity bottle of Rosé. The plan is to purchase different bottles, keep a log of which ones have been purchased until I find the one. Trial and error I suppose. I was hoping I would just randomly pick a bottle at Target and like magic, it would be the one! Well, I was wrong.
We’re kicking off Rosé Chronicles with my first random pick from Target; Francis Coppola Sofia Rosé.
With a fragrance of strawberries and rose petals, I was sure this would be the one. The flavors spoke of “cherry and raspberry that leads to a crisp, dry finish,” and let me tell you was this one DRY. This one may be the furthest from a Rosé that I have ever tried. I could not taste any hint of cherry or raspberry, it just tasted sour and dry. Again, I am the furthest from knowledgeable about wines, but this one was a hard no for me.
I found it at Target on sale for $10.99, and I definitely don’t think I will purchase it again.
I’ll see you all with my next pick of Rosé!
Tootles,
