Surprise November Stitch Fix!

Honest to god, I had no idea I was getting another Stitch Fix in the mail. Turns out my goober mom brain clicked "3 month payment vaycay" instead of fully canceling my subscription. I got halfway there though, so that counts right?

The last box I got, my stylist completely failed me. He had NO idea what I liked and didn't like, and I felt really disappointed. Hence, why I canceled my subscription, or so I thought. When I got the notification that I had a box on the way, I was pretty upset. I really didn’t want to pay $20 for another shipment of clothes I hated. I almost peaked early to see what had been shipped, but my MIL convinced me not to (lol thanks Kim!)

So I came home from work to a decent sized box and I immediately dove it. To start, my new stylist, Ashley, left me a very sweet note. It was clear that she did her research into my geographic location, and took into consideration that it's getting very cold up here in the Northwest. She mentioned that most of the pieces she sent could me mixed and matched with each other, and easily be done up for work, or dressed down for cozy home life as a mother.

I was impressed, and shocked in a good way.

So I got into the clothes, and again was taken by surprise. There, in my surprise box, were all kinds of cozy things that my heart knew and loved! Here they are below, and why I did (or did not) keep them!

MIX BY 41 HAWTHORN

Arnold Raglan Knit Top

S | White $38.00

This girl loves a basic white & black striped shirt! The fabric is super soft and cozy feeling, but not too thick so I can layer it with sweaters. It’s also not so thin that you can see a fleshy colored bra through it. I haven’t worn this shirt with a darker bra yet, but it’s a very comfortable shirt! The neckline is also great for work. Because I fit shoes, I do have to bend down a lot, and modesty is best. This was one of the pieces I kept from my box!

PINK CLOVER

Poplar Cowl Neck Waffle Knit Top

S | Burgundy $44.00

This was another winner in my box. I don’t have any color block clothing in my wardrobe yet, and this made the prefect step into that style! The fabric is a little bit lighter than the sweater above and again would be fun to layer. I can dress it up for work, or dress it down for a day off with Benjamin. It will also make a wonderful travel shirt when we are able to travel again. Pair it with some black leggings and sneakers and you are set to go!

STS BLUE

Ellie Skinny High Rise Jean

2 | Indigo $55.00

Okay, I was honestly torn on this one. The jeans fit really nicely except in the waist (too big) and they were super comfy! My only issue was that I already have 8 pairs of blue jeans, and I wish I was kidding about that… I did just discover though that it does come in black! Fifty-five dollars is quite a bit expensive for me for a pair of jeans, but if that means they’ll last longer, I might consider going back to this one. But for now, I had to pass.

LOVE ELLIE

Wells Confetti Cardigan

S | Burnt Orange $48.00

This was another piece I was torn on. The cardigan itself was SO cozy and warm, and I love the color of it. I did not like the weird speckles of color woven into the burnt orange color. It made the sweater look a little dirty, or that it got washed with the kids’ fuzzy pajamas. The day I received my box I was wearing a burnt orange cardigan that was longer, and that I liked more than this one. So close! But ultimately a no for me.

PAPERMOON

Larie Tie Sleeve Blouse

S | Beige $44.00

This blouse I would say would be the closest to a “disappointing piece.” I loved the cut and style of this blouse, especially since the floral pattern wasn’t obnoxious. The only issue I had was the color. There was something about the color that washed me out bad. I have more of a yellow undertone in my skin, and this color did not compliment that. Hard pass on this one.

Overall, this box was closer to my style than the other two boxes I had received. The styles and cuts were complimentary to my new mom bod, and I really liked almost all of them! Unfortunately I do have a budget for clothes, topped with owning pieces that were very similar to a few of these. I picked what I felt I couldn’t live without and sent back the rest. I’ll definitely be keeping this stylist! She did a wonderful job!!!

If you would like to try Stitch Fix, here is my referral code! It’s one of those '“you get, I get” codes for $25. I’d love it if you tried this with my code, but it’s totes okay if you pass :)

This is all for now!

Tootles,
