My Simple Winter Skincare Routine

Hello everyone! Happy Winter!

Winter is by far my favorite season of all, but it has its negatives. This includes dry skin.

Now that I’ve hit my thirties, I have taken a different approach to skincare. I used to be into all the different serums and lotions and had a whole concoction of products I would use daily. My skincare routine is significantly simple now, and it happened on accident!

I unintentionally stopped deep scrubbing my face when the batteries in my Vanity Planet facial scrubber died, and then I would forget to wash my face while I was showering. When you’re in the throws of motherhood, you just forget to do things sometimes! Up until recently, I’d always had acne, and I had tried every program and over-the-counter remedy known to man to fix my acne. Though, I had never gone on Accutane due to my pre-existing mental health conditions.

Anywhos…

After about a week or so of forgetting to wash my face every now and again, I realized my acne was almost non-existent - I was shocked to say the least!

So, here's what I've been using! It's crazy how simple it is, and I only use three products!

  • CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser

  • Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer with SPF 15

  • Olay Regenerist Retinol Night Cream

Thats it.

Every other day I wash my face in the morning when I shower, and I always apply the SPF Moisturizer afterwards. Then at nighttime, I wash my face and then apply the Retinol Moisturizer. No fancy creams, no fancy serums. Just some really basic stuff!

I have a theory that my face would continually break out due to the many chemicals I was applying to my face on the daily. Now that I've given my face a break, I don't think I'll fray from this new routine. I do find that my face breaks out when my diet changes, for example whenever I drink soda - this blew my mind when I discovered this! But by keeping a cleaner diet and caring for my face as such, my acne is kept at bay!

Take care my lovelies!
