Holiday Décor for Small Spaces
As I have mentioned before on my blog, my husband and I are currently renting out his parent’s basement as we pay of debts and save for our first house. My decorating is kind of confined to decorating our bedroom, and a little hallway where we keep our shoe cabinet. I couldn’t not decorate for Christmas, right?
Here’s what I’ve done to decorate our bedroom and shoe cabinet!
Above The Bed
I decorated this part of our bedroom for Autumn, and now that I have it set up, changing out the seasonal décor is so easy! I’ve added holiday twinkle lights, tiny trees, tiny bulbs for those tiny, a little winter birdie and a tin house! Most of what I found I got at Target. I also added the holiday photo that my sister-in-law got for us last Christmas! Look how tiny and squishy Benjamin was!!!
This headboard is my favorite part of our bedroom right now, and I did a whole blog post on setting it up that I’ll link here if you’d like to check out that DIY!
Fireplace/TV Stand
This was another easy one to decorate! I’ve kept the vines from Ben’s birthday party and they have a permanent spot along the base of the TV.
I have added a little tree and another birdy, and that is probably it for this spot. The cats love to jump up here and knock everything onto the floor, so the less I (eventually) have to pick up the better!
Bedroom Lights
I have been putting up lights around my bedroom since I was 16, and my room doesn’t feel cozy enough until I do this lol!
We’ve kept the white lights up, but have changed the lights that pass over the TV with the multi-colored traditional holiday lights.
This instantly made the bedroom feel like Christmas!
Shoe Cabinet
Last but not least, we have the shoe cabinet.
There isn’t a ton of room on this piece of furniture, so I try to keep the decorations to a minimum.
We’ve got two more of the little birdies, and a letter sign that now says “Deck The Halls.”
So there you have it! I’m trying not to go too crazy on decorations until we have a house, so this will do for now.
Until next time.
